Eclipses -- Fourth Contact
And where you find it, once again
And then, just light again And then, alone again Temporary refuse among the hidden stars Sheets of blue, sheets of white Mildewed to an aged pink 'Till charred by the encroaching edges Of both the uncertainty And inevitability of midnight The fleeting moments, the ever-expending remnants Of the temporary age Light to hide And light to survive Enough, to bear itself as long as it can stand Itself, estranged from the darkness whence it came That from within---gave it its name Forever chasing each other Forever longing one another Forever losing that faint memory In which they once were Simultaneous, harmonious The bonds of light and shadow In brilliance, in coalescence With one another As they reveal ancient secrets And conceal new mysteries Sealed between the thin firmament Holding them both That single ring of fire That shadow of a perfect sphere And the one, the singular, borne from each A material of duality An embodiment of perpetuity A flesh-made keepsake, in the meanwhile In the time between, they remain They shall look upon my face And remember who they seek, once again.
